Gassing Day 2010
A tradition for the last few years, inspired by the writings of motorcyclist, car enthusiast and all around good guy Peter Egan. He has stated that gassing day os the first day for riders to get the bikes out of the garage and into the wind where they belong. It was a shared event with riders from the Mac-Pac mingling with PA Airheads. I had to chose which weapon to bring, and I chose the K, my airhead still needs a little more work to be road worthy.A few riders from the Mac-Pac gathered at my hose before meeting at the Quentin Haus in Quentin, PA for the actual Gassing Day event. Coffee was drunk, donuts were eaten and neighbors intimidated. Ok, no neighbors were actually intimidate, but a couple waved!
A very nice Airhead GS. The sire of the most popular motorcycle that BMW has sold in the US. Tons of GS's around now, and I seriously believe that my next BMW will be a GS.
My motley crew parked away from the crowd. Had I actually needed to gas up I would have used the Sunoco in the background. Its the only station we passed on the way from my house to the resturant.
A couple of Mac-Paccers discussing the theory of relativity and its relation to counter steering a motorcycle.
Me. I look pissed, I do not know why, I was having a great time looking at sweet bikes and talking to friends. Maybe because I knew that I would be riding home soon. Picture by Rob H. of the Mac-Pac.
A couple of bikes worthy of mention. This is a Piaggio MP3. It is technically a scooter, and it has two wheels on the front. It is supposed to handle wonderfully on a very large contact patch. The bike leans fully like a motorcycle, and it only able stay upright like this by locking the front hydrolics.
A really sweet R65ST. Really nice shape and I drooled for quite a bit looking at it.
