New Year's Day 2011
Another year down and another year about to start. As always the Mac Pac gathers at Micheal's Restaurant in Douglasville, PA. Because we had snow last weekend there was a lot of road poo for me to deal with on the way, mostly on the back roads near my house, were they really laid it down thick, all for less than 1" of snow.
You can see the gravel and salt real thick here. At the top of the hill they must have paused because there is a pile about 1" thick of salt and gravel. Not fun on the bike.
Up until three months ago there was a concrete bridge side here and some armco barrier. Someone hit it and it fell into the creek. The Township doesn't want to fix it, neither does the state. I really don't think those barrels will keep someone on the road. You can still see gravel on the road here too.
Soon enough I got to the restaurant were there were already a lot of guys there hanging out. My bike is the red on closest to the camera.
Most Mac-Pac events are like mini bike shows. This is an example of BMW's finest from 1961. Yep 50 years old. I love the looks of the Earle's fork in the front. The bike ran very well, with a very nice rich sound.
An R100GS "Bumblebee", looked very nice as well.
Joe D. rides in on his R90S one of the most popular and most drooled after BMWs ever made. The bike exudes sexiness and the profile of the R90s makes me always say, yep, that is what a motorcycle should be.
Just a little shout of the group. We took up about 10 tables and there was a lot of bench racing and BSing going on, but a good time was had by all. I was home by 2:15 to greet my in-laws and have the annual Pork and Sauerkraut which for some reason Berks Countians feel the year just will not go well without.
